For my boss’s 60th birthday, I created a custom charcoal portrait of his beloved dog, Maggie, the undisputed superstar of our office.

Anyone who knows Hoss knows that Maggie isn’t just a pet, she’s part of the team. Whether she’s greeting everyone at the door or quietly supervising from her favorite spot, she brings joy to the workday in a way only a dog can.

This portrait was a surprise gift, and it was an honor to capture her sweet, familiar expression. I focused on the details that make Maggie who she is, loyal, gentle, and deeply loved.

Creating this piece was a joy, and seeing my boss’s reaction made it all the more special. Here’s to Maggie, and to celebrating the bonds that make life better.
